Ilustre City council of Aranda de Duero, through the Council of Culture, Education and New Technologies, summoned in 2006, the I SCULPTURE AID OUTDOORS, for the selection, order and accomplishment of two independent escultóricos projects, conceived like a tribute to two of the writers who in some of their works have made reference to Aranda de Duero: Camilo Jose Cela, en Judíos, moros y cristianos and Rafael Alberti, La Amante.

Both winning the scuptural works of this I Aid are located in the Riveraof the Duero river, in the SECTION BETWEEN the PARK "EL BARRILES" and the MOUTH Of RIVER ARANDILLA, increasing of that form the bottoms of the Museum of Sculpture Outdoors of which two sculptures previous to the Aid comprise already: the sculpture of PACO PEINADOR and the sculpture of RUFO CRIADO and PEPE ORTEGA.

The winners of the "I Concurso de Escultura al Aire Libre, Aranda de Duero 2006" are: VIRGINIA CALVO SOLER, with the sculpture Arandando and JOSÉ ÁNGEL MERINO LÓPEZ, with the sculpture Pasa la mar.

In Arandando one imagines in a format of three pieces suggested by the title of the book of Cela over that also it uses three words to title it: Judíos, moros y cristianos. A book that relates a trip, that, as it indicates Virgina Calvo Soler, is constituted by the passage or physical route and the passage or mental route: "the physical route of the trip, I represent it with a triangular form, since when we located ourselves the way in front of that we are going to cross, the lines that they delimit this way are parallel being in the distance, adopting this triangular form..." The mental route is represented by the spiral, that makes reference to which that trip has taught to us, to everything what any trip brings us to the memory. The material used in the sculpture is steel cut.

In Pasa la mar, his author, José Ángel Merino López, has wanted to represent the references that on Aranda Rafael Alberti makes in his work La amante, with "a sculpture that is opened on the Duero and it flies over it like a standard. It is a dream of destiny for the Duero (...). the easy poetry and spontaneous it flows of the pen of Alberti. The elliptical hand of the poet draws up a verse dance that flows like the Duero river towards the sea, flow from the sea ". The material used in the execution of the sculpture is stainless steel, with completion kills, without reflections, obtained with grit blasting.

To the visit to these works pertaining to the Museum of Sculpture outdoors, located all of them in the section between the Park "El Barriles" and the mouth of the Arandilla river, it is necessary to add to another work located between the Streets Casacjas and Barrio Nuevo (next to the Church of St Maria), made by the escultor and ceramist DELSO to commemorate the Centennial V of the death of Isabel la Católica (1504-2004).
